Yet another sad display by Rangers' fans has done damage to our beautiful game once more.
Zenit displayed great skill in dispatching the lackluster and violent Glasgow team.
Having lost against the Russians' violence was the only other thing for the Rangers to resort to on and off the field.
There were rough tackles, which did little to deter Zenit from winning 2-0 and dominating most the match with beautiful football.
What followed was a display of the only thing Rangers are famous for which is senseless violence and mayhem.
This team has little to contribute to the sport other than the ugly side and therefore should be banned from international football.
They could remain playing in the Scottish league because this sort of thing there seems to be widely accepted, but they have no place in with the rest of the civilised football community.
Lets make a move to keep our beloved sport beautiful.

You obviously have little knowledge about football Jimmy.
International football by which I presume you mean European football.
When did Rangers resort to violence on the pitch? "Violent Glasgow Team" I take exception to that. They are an honest hard working side that has been given very little credit for their achievements.
I fully admit Rangers fans were a disgrace but you'd have to ban just about every club in Europe on your reckoning. I believe Rangers shoud be forced to play games behind closed doors or their fans banned from away matches for a set period.
You say because Rangers struggled to play attractive football it should count towards them getting banned and I think that is ridiculous.
You then go on to say this kind of thing is widely accepted in Scotland? Where do you get that from? Scotland is in as big a shock as the rest of the world.
Scotland has about the best international fans in the world. The Tartan Army follow Scotland all over the world making friends and widely regarded as about the best support in World football.
Your 13 lines are therefore uneducated and I'd love to know from where you wrote this drivel.

Andrew chill you need not debate some people for they are not worth your time my Bleacher friend, but I will tag in and give you a hand on this.
There are a lot of one time article/comment guys popping up recently, this one seems no different.
They do such a thing to say their point and make filamentary comments, enough to cause a stir by writing from a certain view point with no sense of fairness or attempt to look at the big picture.
For me it is enough to wonder if we have a conspiracy on Bleacher Report. Do we have current writers who want to say something but do not like to take the wrap on their profile and thus be outed for what they are instead of what they would like us to believe, not enough people take a stand. So they create Jimmy McJerkins and talk through the veil of secrecy.
Your a cheeky boy Jimmy my man, I think you should get a job on talk radio, for what you say is not informed nor is it articulate in the informed expression of your view or in deed when it comes to backing it up with fact.
The Rangers team as I have stated before did no such thing in the influencing the Rangers fans. The Rangers team were not dirty in any shape or form, that is not the style of the Rangers management from Walter Smith to Ally McCoist down. Also, importantly the result of the match did no such thing to incite the actions of the Rangers following you should know this.
Glasgow Rangers problems runs deeper than a 90 minute football match.
Scottish football is famous for its fans no greater export we have can match the good name the Tartan Army carry around the world. More to the point we made an effort to be like so directly as a reaction to how bad England's behaviour has been down the years.
The Scots saw that and thought we don't want to be like that nor to we want to be put in the same box in any way to that of the British hooligan we'll go our own way.
I would like to point out how many London accents were in Manchester supporting Rangers with England tops and Chelsea tops on which I saw in evidence when I was there, it was only 4 years ago when Rangers fans caused trouble at an SPL match away to Aberdeen which was later proved to be Chelsea supporting Rangers fans.
Jimmy you did enough to make me want to write back on your writing, but not enough for me to think your article was anything but a deliberate attempt to be a talk show host who just shouts louder when he doesn't get his way or the pother person is of a differing view.
I think you should go to the States with your Jimmy McJerkins character they got a bunch of guys like you on the shock jock circuit.
Amen...

You can't ban a team for playing unattractive football.
As for the bigger question of a banning. I've read conflicting reports as to whether the Zenit fan stabbed was inside or outside the ground, if it turns out to be inside then a ban would look likely, some games behind closed doors at the very least.
Also the idea this was Chelsea fans is ludicrous, we've all seen the TV footage, it was Rangers fans, make no mistake. I think Chelsea fans have their own, slightly bigger, events happening at the moment than to worry about a UEFA cup game.

Why do you have to go write that last line John boy, the sentiment is for the playground man, the lowly UEFA Cup was enough for many Londoners to come up to Manchester to follow Rangers.
Ludicrous is a bit much, I saw with my own eyes how many Chelsea shirts and English accents were on display and the link is real considering the events in Aberdeen not long ago.
However, I did not say anything to warrant blame being put on such a point but merely stated the fact there is an issue and it is not a Scottish one alone when it comes Glasgow Rangers, due to the British underlying tone that is taken advantage off by many.

I to have seen and been angered by the Chelsea link to my club it is something we do not want - but I understand why it exists - I do not feel it was of any blame the other night and I don't think Alby was saying it was but but just stated what he saw and heard - but I am glad he brought it up and mentioned the events that took place in Aberdeen not long ago - the British Empire and God Save The Queen sentiment that attracts many Englishmen to following our club is not something I welcome and I wish it was different.
I don't think action will be taken against us at least not a ban in any shape or form but a conversation and debate must lead to my club taking a stand and effectively combating such action and sentiment to our following for I for one are tired of the same old same old.

If they were in Manchester they were there to support Rangers, so, English accent or not, they are Rangers fans. If the fans run about flying union jacks and crying rule brittania they can't then blame the English fans when there is trouble.
Of course it's not a Scottish problem, it's a Rangers problem.

I agree with this and glad it has been raised.

And of course, ALL violence outside ANY ground now simply MUST be down to the teams playing within.
So ... if there is a particularly nasty Saturday night of violence on the streets of (for example Sheffield, with numerous injuries) then it must be down to either Wednesday or United, because ALL violence outside any football ground is DIRECTKLY RELATED to the teams within.
What a lot of tosh.
