ATLANTA - MARCH 14: Greg Paulus #3 of the Duke Blue Devils walks upcourt against the Maryland Terrapins during the semifinals of the 2009 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament on March 14, 2009 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

As per SUAthletics.com, Doug Marrone has named his starting quarterback.

In a surprise move (to me at least), former Duke point guard Greg Paulus has been pegged as the starting quarterback in Syracuse.

This comes as a bit of a shock, because Marrone has stated he would name the starter somewhere around a week and a half before the opener against Minnesota on September 5th. As far as I know, former first stringer Ryan Nassib had been impressive in camp and was still ahead until today.

All I can say is good luck to Greg and I really hope he gives Syracuse the best chance to win games.

Go Orange!
