Lets go back in time, when Edge (Adam Copeland) was caught having an affair with Lita (Amy Dumas). The information was leaked to general public, and people started chanted negatively towards Edge.

Genius Vince McMahon paired up Edge and Lita, since the crowd was already on those two, and wanted someone to knock them out. It mutated.

Educated fans booed Edge for an affair he did which affected many people’s lives in between; meanwhile, not-so-average fans just thought it was a typical face turned heel. Absolutely genius.

Now, let’s discuss our steroid-free John Cena. Educated fans dislike Cena because he can’t wrestle, and doesn’t have many aspects to his game to be in the main event, and miraculously he went from the streets of hard knocks “thugonomics” to becoming a nice guy, no more gang signs, when he comes out to the ring, no more rapping, no chain, and apparently an ex-militant.

Now, when the fans are watching the main events day after day, they are booing Cena because they don’t want to see him in the main event, even though he is the WWE go-to-guy. WWE keeps assuming that they are getting a good reaction for Cena, and they should keep him up at the top.

Best strategy right now for fixing up John Cena’s character, which is their long term investment, is to turn him heel. Try the strategy that made Edge’s career. WWE’s rating is already low, so there is nothing to lose but only to gain.
