SEC Football, Alabama Crimson Tide Football, Nick Saban, Editorial

As many of you know, college football in the south is more important to us than anything in the world. In Alabama it's not only college football, but The University Of Alabama football that stands out.

As one of the powerhouses in college football, the Crimson Tide have twelve national championships, twenty-one southeastern conference championships and more bowl appearances than any other team in the United States. Clearly that means a lot to me,as it should to the rest of you.

The last few years have been rough for the Crimson Tide as they have not reached many of the fans 'expectations (which are very high). Many believe that Nick Saban is the way out of the massive slump that the Crimson Tide is in.

'Bama has a 33-28 record over the past four years and a 1-2 bowl record. That statement basically tells you the recent history of Alabama: just plain horrible.

In his first year Nick Saban was not very impressive, but after the loss against L-Monroe, Alabama fans finally came to realize that they cannot win every game that they play. I guess it finally knocked some sense into us.

Without a doubt it caught the fans' attention.

The press conference after that one game Nick Saban explained that you can't expect too much out of the football team, and that you have to play week by week. Now Alabama fans realize that it will take time and we will have to earn championships, and that they just don't come floating by or dropping out of the sky into our hands.

So maybe good ol'Nick is just what Alabama needs to straighten them out, and who knows? Maybe he is Alabama's savior.

  1. I stopped reading at "twelve national championships." You're kidding right, just because fans like you, and the University of Alabama continue to state ad naseaum that they have earned twelve NC's, does not make it true. You guys can't really believe that in 1973, when ya' all lost to an undefeated Notre Dame, in the Sugar Bowl, and the AP crowned ND champs; that you actually won the National Championship? And they say that we Notre Dame fans are delusional... welcome to the club!

  2. Horrid, and Im a Bama fan. No punctuation, horrible grammar, and basically just a bunch of bragging. I couldnt get past the first 10 lines without shooting down to the comment section to write this. No one cares about our NCs, SEC titles, etc. If you are going to write an article, do it objectively, not Bammer style with Crimson glasses on.

    1. thanks for being so supporting

  3. Sorry, it may have been a little harsh. Anyways, here are some pointers.

Dont seem like you are bragging in your writing. Everyone knows about Bama's history, so that doesnt need to be said.

Elaborate more with your opinion and get more in depth analysis. The stats are good, but tell why they are important and why we should care you are telling us these things.

Third, just continue to read other people's articles, whether its on here or other sites by paid professionals. The best way I learned was by reading other articles by guys on ESPN.com or in the Bham News and mirroring their style.

Just keep writing and it will fix itself.

  4. Thanks, thats the first sort of positive thing i have gotten.

  5. But i wasn't really meaning to brag even though it sounds like it but i get what you are saying.
