The city of Brotherly Love is now flying high on the wings of their Flyers.
In a pre-game interview, the Flyers Coach John Stevens, talked jokingly about using an aerial attack to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Well all joking aside, it seems that Steven's may know a thing or two about flying.
His Flyers were able to take a 3-0 lead in the first period, while they eventually went on to hold them off with a 4-2 win Thursday night in Philadelphia.
"We started shooting the puck again,” Flyers coach John Stevens said. “I think we were trying to pass the puck to the net. They're a very good penalty-killing team, and sometimes you don't score on the initial shot, but you create secondary chances at the net. I thought the power play did that early, and really gave us momentum."
All the components of the Aerial Attack were present in the Flyers game. Lots of shots, lots of traffic and lots of hits. Those components allowed the Flyers to win their first game of the series and gives them a chance to take off again on Saturday night.
