Don't expect to see Melo in New Jersey next season.

There have been multiple reports and rumors saying that Melo could be sent to New Jersey this offseason. I just want to clear this whole situation up.

Denver is not interested in any of the Nets players, and Carmelo wants to remain a Nugget for the foreseeable future.

You might think that they could work out a deal, seeing that Nets General Manager, Kiki Vandeweghe, has connections to the Nuggets organization, and the fact that he is also very interested in Carmelo Anthony.

However, in reality, Denver does not want to take any risks with dealing their young phenom.

Melo averaged more points, and rebounds, than any New Jersey Net, and to be realistic the Nets don't have the roster to try and get a player like Melo.

Richard Jefferson is always a possible trade candidate, but he is also four years older than Anthony and has had his struggles this past season.

Both General Managers declined to comment, and it's looking like Melo will remain a Nugget for at least the 08-09 season, if not longer.

  1. he will be in denver for a long time.....he is the franchise player and i dont see this team being anywhere without him.

    GO NUGGETS!

  2. but you never know, i mean we know carmelo put up huge numbers. But with an aging AI, the nuggets contention chances are fading slowly season by season. They need some kind of change to contend, and just AI and Carmelo is not enough, as we all saw in the first round for the past two seasons, this year against the lakers and last year againts the spurs. As a nets fan, i love RJ and i would hate to see him leave. But the fact that melo is 4 years younger changes everything. And who knows, we get melo this year, and then we sign LeBron in 2010 when he's a free agent. That would be huge.
