It has now been official, Michael Vick is a Philadelphia Eagle. But now that we have heard the big news, the question remains- Will the Eagles benefit from the decision to sign this player with explosive talent, talent that can literally knock your freaking socks off?
The answer: How can they not?
The most popular idea that has been mentioned is the Wildcat, and I do believe Andy Reid will bring this twisted idea into Philly's playbook. And heck, maybe it can work. But it has been said that Vick will not be playing those positions people have said, like running back or wide receiver. To the people who believed that, no, it is not going to happen.
Vick will most probably be under center and the Eagles now have probably the best backup quarterback in the NFL. Backup you say, Josh? Well, don't you think it might be somewhat crazy to put in a player who hasn't played for two seasons in place of a respected quarterback in Donovan McNabb? Yeah, I thought so.
Vick has already talked to several teams and was most likely going to the Green Bay Packers, in my opinion. And of course, Christopher Harris has to be right about Mike Vick easily being a sleeper coming into the new NFL season.
I believe that Vick will be taking snaps under center about four-to-five times every game next season. Vick is also allowed to play in the pre-season games. If he can show what he can do with the Eagles during the pre-season, I can't wait to see how exciting he can be in the regular NFL season. There was never a chance for Vick with the Pats anyways, because hell, why would the Pats ever take out Tom Brady. They wouldn't even think of that. That'd be the last thing they would ever do.
I knew Vick was either going to fall with the Packers or Titans, some team like that. But Philly has surprised the National Football League with this signing. I didn't even expect this, and not many others either. McNabb surely likes the deal, as he approved it. You know I said earlier that the Eagles may not be doing the Wildcat? Well, I changed my mind, I think they should.
Just look at how fun that play would be. Seriously, I am not kidding. The Wildcat will probably take place with Vick at shotgun and taking the ball. You have McNabb at receiver and DeSean Jackson playing in Ricky Williams position when he was in the Wildcat with the Miami Dolphins. The Eagles will be switching players a lot; and with offensive playmakers like Brian Westbrook, Jeremy Maclin, Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, and LeSean McCoy; how the heck can the Wildcat with Philly be even close to stoppable?
The Eagles pretty much have a one-way ticket to the Super Bowl already. I mean seriously. With good decisions in the Draft and the off-season overall, then this random Vick signing that came out of nowhere, it looks like Philly will be heading off to their third Super Bowl and win their first one.
So it looks like the Vikings have missed out on somebody that could be the answer to their prayers, instead the Eagles have found him. Hallelujah Philly! It looks like a good season for Philly. So to those workers out there, "Hey Philly fans who have work, stop that mining, because those Eagles WILL benefit from the Michael Vick signing." Expect it.
