Is It Just Me, Or Did Hester and Bennett Get Handed Their Roster Spots?

I couldn’t help but notice that Bennett and Hester did not have to fight for their starting positions. I always thought that in the game of football you had to work hard and earn your position on the team. Just because a player got drafted a little high, or can potentially make a big play should not automatically put them on the top of the depth chart. It kind-of seems like throughout Bears training camp, the ones who have been getting the most praise is Devon Aromashadu and Brandon Rideau. I think that Lovie Smith is noticing this but will continue to be stubborn, like he has been the past few seasons! I'm a diehard Bears fan but Unfortunately, I don't think that Bennett and Hester should be definite locks for 1st string.
I guess you could say that the situation that’s brewing is giving me Rex Grossman flashbacks. Remember when he struggled so, so bad and Lovie refused to sit him on the bench? I can remember that time oh too well. All I could do when I would watch Bears games and Grossman was still starting was scream in agony, "What the hell is Lovie Smith thinking?" I think we got the makings of a repeat coming on people, and no, not the repeat we're hoping for! It's more like one of those repeats that you hope never repeats again. In other words, if Hester and Bennett don't perform well, Lovie will not tell either one of them to take a seat, therefore, in the end the players that the Bears are going to most likely be relying on is Greg Olsen, Matt Forte, and Kevin Jones. And, Oh yeah, can't forget, sometimes Desmond Clark. Let’s hope that that’s all we need on offense to score big points.
I suppose I'm just a frustrated Bears fan. I wonder if anybody else out there feels like I do? Let me know what you think.
