After Super Aguri's recent demise, there seem to be very few options left in F1 for Anthony Davidson.

The plucky British star showed he had lost none of his racing spirit in 2007 after 5 years as a test and reserve driver, with Ant frequently punching above his and the teams weight with some superb drives most notably Australia 2007 where he was racing in severe pain throughout after a clash with Adrian Sutil (Force India) and had to have a drip in his arm immediately after the race.

Unfortunately in his season and a bit in F1 these drives didn't lead to any points finishes.

His options in F1 appear limited. He could return to a test driver role but then there is a risk of being cast aside for newer, younger talent.

So for the short term at least, Ant's date with F1 has ended in despair

a real shame, he is a talented driver and got the most out of the car he was provided with. In 2007 he achieved 3, 11th places in Spain, USA, and Canada which is above the cars capability.

Im hoping new teams for 2009 (if there will be any) will consider him as a test driver or even a 2nd, 1st driver. Maybe even the retirement of rubbens (he's getting old, but is still an ace driver) could open a place for davidson, as Honda did supply Super Aguri with engines.

However, I think its over for him, im not sure he impressed enough to be considered by bigger teams.
