Cy Young caliber pitcher, Josh Beckett now leads the MLB with 14 wins, and has an 8-0 record at Fenway Park. Beckett now has an ERA of 3.10 and 145 strike outs.

He was dealing last night against the Tigers with six Ks, three hits, one walk, and two earned runs in seven innings pitched. He also had some run support thanks to Jason Bay and Mike Lowell who both went yard their second night in a row.

Lowell went 3-4 with his 14th HR and two RBIs. Bay was 4-4 with a HR and two doubles. The Sox are still 5.5 behind the Yankees in the AL East and lead the Wild Card by 1.5 over Texas.

The Red Sox end their short home stand against Detroit tonight. Detroit's ace Justin Verlander will pitch for the Tigers tonight. Verlander is 12-6 with 3.45 ERA. Buchholz is the starter for the Red Sox. Although getting the loss in his last start against the Yankees, he had a good performance, only allowing six hits and two runs over six innings. Buchholz had three walks and three strikeouts.
