Senior running back Cassius McDowell aims to be a bigger leader this year given the departure of former teammate and Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. "I have to be a bigger leader this year, because last year Denard was the leader," McDowell said. "I have to take his spot and talk way more.''
McDowell is a burner, as described by his coach, who recently witnessed a play where McDowell broke a 70-yard run for a touchdown on his first play. "I'd never seen that play at the high school level run with such speed," Coach Adam Ratkevich said. "It was incredible. He was past the safety before I knew what happened."
McDowell sports offers from the likes of WFU, Mississippi, WVU, Florida, Wisc, and UNC.
Is there a chance he'd join Denard and former teammate Adrian Witty at Michigan? We'll have to wait and see, although there is a strong relationship between Denard and Cassius. "Me and Denard, we were like brothers," McDowell said.
