Al Afalava : Could He Be The Next Mike Brown?

BERKELEY, CA - OCTOBER 13: Brandon Hughes #36 and Al Afalava #9 of the Oregon State Beavers celebrate a goal line stand that stopped the California Golden Bears from scoring in the third quarter of a college football game, at Memorial Stadium on October 13, 2007 in Berkeley, California. As every Bears fan knows, fan-favorite safety Mike Brown is no longer with us. This upsets me considering I used to love watching Brown NAIL people on the field.

Brown was one of the hardest hitters I have ever seen in the NFL. With his departure, there is now a void in the Chicago secondary.

There have been many articles regarding who will start for the Bears in his place.

Will it be second-year player Craig Steltz? How about converted cornerback Cory Graham? Or will it be Nickel Back Daniel Manning?

Who is going to step it up and fill this hole? I for one think that there is one safety in training camp that might fill that hard hitting tough nosed mentality.

I think Al Afalava may be a surprise to Chicago Bears fans.
