In the words of Paul Simon's Song.......Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
you know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away

Yes I know the Cubs have injury issues but it is about time to suck it up? Did the Dodgers do it without Manny?  Did the Angels do it without Guerrero and Hunter?  Did  the Yankees do it without Alex?   Did the Mets do it without Beltran and Delgado?  Isn't it time to act like contenders?  How much longer are you going to sit there and cry about the injuries and make excuses instead of "sucking it in" and respond to adversity?

When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not QUIT.

When you know what you want, and you want it badly enough, you'll find a way to get it   Are you listening Cubs?
