There is a sense of urgency for the Toronto Raptors. With a lot to think about this off season, one big question that hasn't been answered comes to mind. TJ or Jose?
I know there has been a lot of talk about this, but a bunch of teams are inquiring about the status of Jose Calderon.
The Raptors would likely want to get rid of TJ Ford and his 8 million dollar contract, but they probably wont get what they want for him. That's why i and many others think they should trade Jose and possibly get that 20+ point scorer that they desperately need.
A little under a month ago TJ Ford stated he wanted to be the starting point guard of the Toronto raptors, because at this point of his career that's where he think's he should be. Now nothings wrong with this, because that's usually the attitude of the injury prone point guard. But what scares me is that Jose (usually the silent type that consistently states he doesn't care who starts, he just wants to win,) comes out and says on his personal website that he wants to start and will not be joining the raptors if he doesn't. Now this is weird considering that about a week or so before he didn't care.
Anyways the raptors need to address this issue and i say their best bet is to trade Jose Calderon and try and land someone like Jamaal Crawford, Corey Maggette, or even send a package over to try and swipe former defensive player of the year Marcus Camby.
But whatever they do, im sure it's the smart thing considering Bryan Colangelo is running things.

I'll agree a deal bringing Marcus Camby back to Toronto for T.J. Ford does sound nice, but only for Toronto.
I believe the Nuggets are enquiring for both Ford and Calderon.
Here's a trade that I feel will effect both teams positively:
T.J. Ford, Jamario Moon
for
J.R. Smith

I said a package though...i was thinking something like this to try and get camby:
To Denver
Jose Calderon
Joey Graham
1st round pick 2010
To Toronto
Marcus Camby
i think this trade works well for both teams....for toronto it helps them with rebounding, blocking, and overall having a solid big man at the center position. For denver i think jose would be a perfect fit there. Denver loves having two pgs in the backcourt and they will be able to put iverson at SG knowing that everything is secure. I threw joey graham in this basicly because he needs a fresh start somewhere away for toronto.
And as for your trade i think denver is getting to much out of jamario moon. i dont think the raps would give up both of them for J.R Smith. But on the other hand tj for J.R straight up would be great i think.

Calderon is a much better fit for the Raptors. This was evident in the fact that the Raps played their best ball of the season during the time TJ was injured as Jose started. Alone, TJ might be better, but in terms of playing team ball, Jose is much better for the Raptors.
Choosing Ford over Calderon would be a huge mistake, and would be another backward step for the franchise.
Like you, I have faith in Colangelo to make the right moves, and if Sam Mitchell wants to keep TJ over Jose he can walk out the door along with Ford, because as much as I like Sam, I'm not sure he can take this team to the next level.

I think they should pull the trigger on the corey magette deal because it would be quite a steal. Magette will be opting out on his contract and the clippers know that its better to gain a valuable player than to lose one for free so....
Trade offer:
t.j. ford
joey graham
rights to 2009 2nd round pick
for:
Corey magette ( or they could even trade al thornton if they are willing to.)
