The Fat Lady is in Philadelphia this evening and getting ready to sing.

The Philadelphia Flyers are on the brink of being swept by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Game four of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals will air on tonight on CBC, RDS and Versus, but it faces tough competition this evening.

Some people will be watching game six of the NBA Conference Semi-Finals as the defending Champion San Antonio Spurs face elimination against the New Orleans Hornets. A much tighter series could mean more excitement, which could mean more viewers.

Elsewhere, tonight promises to be one of the most competitive nights of the season in Primetime TV.

It is Season Finale time, and tonight treats us with many season enders. My Name is Earl, The Office, Smallville and Without a Trace all have their season finales on the big networks.

But the biggest competition tonight is the much anticipated Season Finale of CSI.

Executive Producer Carol Mendelsohn calls it "the most shocking episode of CSI ever." Fans of the show will know that this is indeed a bold statement, considering the past season finales this series has given us.

Tonight’s episode will also be the last for one CSI favorite. CSI is already a top-rated show on Thursdays and you have to believe that it will be the overall leader tonight.

No doubt that the Philadelphia Flyers will try do everything on the ice to stay alive, but how many will actually watch? I have no doubt passionate hockey fans will indeed watch it, but what about casual fans?

With the competition tonight on other networks, and the series almost out of reach, could this mean record low ratings for the NHL?

  1. Classic Adam, you couldn't keep the TV Junky out of the hockey article, could you? I really think the one-sidedness of the Eastern final is reducing the entertainment value. I wrote a story on it yesterday. It's no fun when a series that should be really close is being led 3-0.

  2. True. I mean, third round hockey should be FANTASTIC hockey! what were getting is two heavy weight teams throwing their weight around and commanding the series. This is expected in the first round....but in the third?

Anyway, tell the fat lady to hook me up....I'm looking for a date. ;)

    GO FLYERS GO!!!!
    BELIEVE!!!!!

  3. Well, CSI definitely lived up to hype! What an ending! Wow!
