UFC Top 5: Light Heavyweights
The Top 5 Light Heavyweights in the UFC is very debatable due the increasing talent in the division. The UFC is filled with many up and coming stars that I am sure will soon make my list.
The warriors I have chosen have earned their spot through hard work and dedication.
Many readers may disagree with my list but this is only my second article. I hope you guys enjoy it .
Lyoto Machida has dominated the Light Heavyweight division since the dawn of his career.
He has fought and defeated big names such as, Rich "Ace" Franklin, BJ Penn, Tito Ortiz and "Sugar" Rashad Evans.
He is known to completely humiliate his opponents as he did to Thiago Silva at UFC 94.
Machida has KO'd five opponents, submitted two, and has gone to a decision eight times. Machida likes to go the distance and finish what he started.
And he has his record to prove it.
"Sugar" Rashad Evans has also had a quite impressive carreer, only losing once to our No.1 Light Heavyweight contender Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida at UFC 98.
Evans has KO'd opponents, submitted two, and went a decision six times making him one of the most well-rounded fighters in the UFC.
Other than that disappointing loss ending his 13 fight win streak Evans has beaten many veterans such as Chuck Liddell and Michael Bisping.
Evans easily earns a spot in the top five LHW.
What is there to say about "Rampage"? His name says it all. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is a heavy hitting slugger that guarantees a great fight.
Rampage a 30-7 record under his belt, knocking out MMA legends Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva.
Rampage has KO'd 14 opponents, submitted seven and went to a decision nine times. Only being submitted once, Rampage is sure to have a stand-up slugfest with who ever the UFC puts in front of him.
Forrest Griffin may have lost his last to fight in a row, but the Ultimate Fighter 1 winner has proven himself by defeating big time names such as Muaricio "Shogun" Rua and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
What's great about Forrest Griffin is how well-rounded he is. He has submitted his opponents 7 times out of his 16 wins, KO'd three and went to a decision times. Forrest Griffin has never been submitted once in his career.
Forrest Griffin is still improving and is soon to come back stronger and harder than ever.
Though "Shogun" has lost one of his three fights in the UFC, his credentials as a superstar in PRIDE follow him. 15 of "Shoguns" 18 won fights have been by way of TKO or KOs. That alone proves that he does not like to go to a decision.
"Shogun" is one of the UFCs biggest fan pleasers. He has KO'd Chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman making him an instant success. "Shogun" is young and strong and we can sure enough be expecting more from him.
Well, that's my Top 5 LHW of the UFC. Any tips or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Enjoy!
