Humor, NBA, Charles Barkley

Sometimes what happens in Vegas spills onto the newswire.

The Associated Press is reporting that former NBA player and current TNT analyst, Charles Barkley owes a $400,000 gambling debt to the casino Wynn Las Vegas (I guess we know why it’s not “Win” Las Vegas).

To be fair, in the article, it is noted that Barkley can make restitution to avoid felony bad check charges.

Yowsers. $400K? That’s a lot of cheeseburgers there, Chucko.

To be unfair, here are 10 questions for the rest of us to nibble on:

1. Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to have just gone fishin'?

2. Do you think Barney the Dinosaur’s getting a kick out of this—you know, since the "Round Mound of Tapped Out" emasculated him on SNL several years back?

3. Can a felon become the Governor of Alabama?

4. Is it funnier that there’s a $400,000 gambling debt, or that bad checks were written to cover said debt?

5. Aren’t the fees from all those bad checks a killer?

6. Will Chuck skip a meal or two in order to save a couple grand here and there? (I haven’t seen the line on this but I'm guessing it’s a long shot.)

7. Has Sir Charles ever heard Kenny Roger's song, “The Gambler”? (You gotta know when to walk away, Baby!)

8. Is this just a PR stunt to make us believe he really isn’t a role model?

9. Do you think ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski has any second thoughts about this column?

10. Is Chuck still in D-Wade’s myFaves...you know, since he now needs money? (Pick me, D-Wade. Pick me!)
