“It’s a team game, anyone can score goals, but the important thing is the team does well. It’s always nice to score, but the fact is we lost so I don’t get any personal satisfaction.” - Robbie Fowler.
God’s debut match for the North Queensland Fury in the A-League proved a bittersweet occasion as Fowler opened his Aussie account with a clinical penalty, only to see his side lose 3-2 to Sydney FC in a narrow defeat.
Apart from his goal, the A-league’s new poster child proved that he can do more than live off past memories. Fowler’s general play were all positive, as the 34-year-old striker was mobile, competitive and durable enough to last the 90 minutes.
