Yesterday was a day of celebration for hundreds of thousands of Scots, the world over, as Rangers fans built up to last nights UEFA Cup Final. Once again though, it just wasn't Scotland's night.
It felt quite surreal to me last night as I watch my beloved Rangers walk out, play and eventually lose the UEFA Cup to Zenit St Petersburg, and to be honest, I never thought I'd see the day.
The actions of around 200 hundred Rangers fans will have spoiled it for many but not for me. I'm extremely proud of the red, white and blue army that descended on Manchester. Never before has club football seen anything like it.
Sadly "surreal" didn't cover my thoughts this morning at the sad news of the passing of Celtic legend, Tommy Burns.
The man was all about football and he had the utmost respect from everyone involved in the Scottish game. At 51, you can't help but think it wasn't his time to go and I'm sure you'll all join me in saying our thoughts and prayers are with the Burns family.
Rangers have cancelled today's scheduled bus trip around the city as a mark of respect for Burns.
Football is just not important today as Scotland has lost a great ambassador, a great footballer and a great, great man.

Sad day and a reality check on events yesterday.
The footage on the bbc website of some of my fellow Rangers fans is quite disgusting, non more so than the video of one police man being hunted down and beating him to the ground and once on the ground more people joined in. I am sorry but this was sad and leaves a militant taste in the mouth.
Sad day all round, I don't like the mix of Tommy Burns sentiment and a summation of feeling of last nights game being in the same article.
To many Chelsea fans were mixed in with us Scots yesterday I did not enjoy this one bit and to those who took part in such behaviour, shame on you no matter what, you have tarnished our good name.
We took many fans to Manchester for the simple reason it was a five hour drive from Glasgow we did not need to travel unlike Celtic when they went to Sevilla, to many idiots only had to get a bus or have a car or jump on the train to attend last night I wish we had played abroad the numbers would not have been so large and the idots would have stayed home and gone to the pubs.
Glad we cancelled the parade through town, we did well and I am proud of the players and the staff, but make no mistake we have blame at our door no matter the circumstance.

I am totally disgusted myself John. They have as you say tarnished our club and we will probably never be forgiven for it.
I was just writing my personal feelings of the last 24 hours. It didn't come together as I had hoped but I felt I had to mention both.
I feel your last line is extremely fitting, "make no mistake we have blame at our door no matter the circumstance"
Thanks for the comment.
