Hello and welcome to the first ever issue of the DJ Contraversal's Rumour Mill. Each week I'll round up all the rumours and transfer talk that has been coming out of the British newspapers and tabloids. Hope you enjoy.

Arsene Wenger is considering a 20m pound swoop for Argentine striker Mauro Zarate from Al-Sadd, after his successful loan spell at Birmingham City, and the brum clubs option to sign was terminated after their relegation. (The Sun)

Rafa Benitez is having preliminary talks with Florent Malouda's representatives in the hope of wrapping up the 10m pound signing of a player who snubbed Liverpool for Chelsea last summer. (The Sun) 

Liverpool are prepared to let Andriy Voronin leave to either Stuttgart or Bayer Leverkussen. The Ukrainian only signed in the summer and is contracted till 2011, but the Reds are willing let him leave on the cheap. (Various)

Didier Drogba has stunned Chelsea by telling them that he wants to leave the club and realise his dream of playing for AC Milan. (Various)

Gareth Barry wants Martin O'Neil to at least let him talk to Liverpool, after the Reds lodged a 10m pound bid for the England International.

The villans are also interested in Valencia's Portuguese player Marco Caneira after the defender admitted that he would be interested in a move. (Sky Sports News)

Other Barry's possible arrival would not mean the end of Xabi Alonso's Anfiled career, as the Spaniard wants to stay and play alongside the departing Aston Villa captain. (The Times)

Out-of-favour Chelsea striker Andriy Shevcenko is a target for Fenerbahce after AC Milan cooled their interest.

Zenit St Petersburg manager Dick Advocaat has warned the Russian club that they need to keep hold of their star , playmaker Ardei Arshavin, if they to avoid becoming another Monaco. (The Mirror)
