Fighting, MMA, Matt Serra, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, UFC

I for one am shocked that there aren't more UFC stories around here.

With UFC 76: Knockout on the horizon, I decided to take a look at the big matches on the card.

Here's the rundown...

Forrest Griffin vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua

The Pride of Pride Fighting, Shogun Rua, makes his UFC debut against tenacious Forrest Griffin.

Griffin is the man who literally wore his heart on his sleeve during the first season of The Ultimate Fighter and was rewarded for it with a contract to the UFC.

To many, this is another showdown between Pride Fighting and Ultimate Fighting. But to those who know the sport, and watch it religiously, this is a battle between two of the future legends of the sport.

As for Rua, he is 16-2 with 14 knockouts. Pretty impressive...but is it enough to get past the Georgia Force known as Forrest Griffin?

Jon Fitch vs. Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez

Jon Fitch has been a force in UFC with a 14-2 record, and he will have his hands full against a man who suffered his only loss of his professional career.

Diego Sanchez lost a heartbreaker to Josh Koscheck and will be looking to rebound against Fitch. Sanchez looked more ready at weigh in for this bout, and he wants to get back in the welterweight championship picture.

Most likely, one of these men will be in line to face either Matt Hughes or Matt Serra for the UFC Welterweight Championship.

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell vs. "Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine

Both men are dangerous. Both are nightmares with their hands. Both have predicted that they will knock the other out.

On Saturday night, someone is going to be made a liar.

After suffering a knockout and losing his championship to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, The Iceman will be looking to get back his pride and his title when he faces the Dean of Mean.

Jardine is a force to be reckon with throughout the UFC, but he will most likely be the bad guy when he faces one of the legends of the octagon in Anaheim.

Both have the tools to get the job done—but on Saturday night, someone will have to lose.

The Arrowhead Pond got its first championship earlier this year with the Ducks. Which one of these brawlers and grapplers will become the next man in line for a title shot? We'll find out this Saturday night in which "Two Men Enter. One Man Leaves." UFC 76: Knockout. Live from the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California. This Saturday on Pay Per View.

  1. Shogun will make quick work of forrest just like Jardine did.
fitch vs sanchez will be a shootout probably fight of the night
Chuck ko's Jardine in a brawl.

  2. it is strange no titles and this is ppv the unification was on free tv kinda odd

  3. Wow way to go Forrest I give him mad respect I way Underated him
I WAS WRONG ABOUT YOU MR GRIFFIN

  4. YES YOU WERE MY FRIEND. YES YOU WERE.

  5. well he still has to beat Jardine he got killed by him

  6. anything is possible in the UFC. But Jardine looks too dangerous to be stopped if he destroyed the Iceman

  7. Thanks Chuck for nothing:

Chuck Liddell will not win any more fights, I'm sorry to say. I sent him a 27 page packet of dynamite information going all the way back to 1948.

It was how fighters trained and all their little secrets.

I really put a ton of work into this packet and the freakin bum wouldn't even say thanks. 45 years of my life

For him to win ( and like he says: why change your routine if that's what got him there) Airhead statement from a smart man. He must swarm and over power his opponent .you re a hard hitter so they will cover and then pick them apart.

You never stop learning....For Chuck to win he is to be like Marciano and swarm his opponents right away, throw every thing but the kitchen sink, don't give Silva or Jackson next time, time to think.

Who ever got that packet is going to be a winner along of course with GOD given abilities If you didn t get the packet someone in your crew is a RAT Bast*rd

I have changed my opinion on most MMA fighters except Randy Couture...When he took on Sylvia on, I thought after his losses to chuck he was through.... Was I wrong or what...I thought he bit off more then he could handle with Sylvia, but Sylvia was thrown all over the ring, it almost look comical the way Randy handled him, but it was right in your face game (the swarm), and then to take on Gabriel Gonzaga that almost took Mirkos head off, it was a blood bath . Randy, you re the best and that is something coming from me.

But Randy, the "man" showed his stuff....Randy will go down as the number fighter of all time and still going at 44. he is my new Marciano.

They all said Marciano beat old men, yet my friends Joe louis was 36, Jersy Joe 37, Archie 41 and he crushed them all. Don't ever tell me about age....I fought this fight in the bars in brooklyn for decades saying age don't mean sh*t in boxing...You never lose your punch, you never lose you chin, maybe you legs .But these said they were great shape before the fight with Marciano THE GREATEST EVER. Now Randy Couture The GREATEST EVER
I ll say it again no one can beat a guy with a granite chin, a guy who never tires, punches heavy with both hands, throws over 80-100 punches a round, when down he got right up and never walk in pot holes , it was just the opposite he went after them to kill them. (Ruby Goldstein said that) That's why I say no one can beat a swarmer Joe Louis agreed he had one fault he never liked being crowed, and Ali did too after being hit in the stomach by Marciano in a scripted fight .Ali only said sorry once and that was to Rocky and He was a pall bearer at rocks funeral Ali said: he is the only white fighter I ever liked ..he knew who was great.
