When will Wenger learn that our current crop of players just aren't good enough? I remember only a few years a go when our defence was one of the greatest in the world, we had a world-class defender in Tony Adams and a world-class manager.

Now we have a defence that cannot cope with basics such as defending from set-pieces and mastering the offside-trap. Djourou has quite a lot of potential but at the moment he just isn't good enough. Silvestre isn't good enough to be in our reserve team let alone our first-team, Gallas is a quality defender but incredibly unpredictable and only has a year remaining on his contract, Song has played great in central defence but that leaves a whole in midfield, who is left?

We need to bring in a world-class defender who can battle with the physical demands of the Premiership and keep players such as Torres out of the game. Brede Hangeland would be good but even he is not good enough. He lacks pace and natural skill, apart from his strength and his height there would be no real need for him.

In a perfect world we need a new spine; a central defender, a holding midfielder and a striker. We have £40-50 million pounds in the transfer kitty and yet Wenger is still too stubborn to spend it.

I have kept this article short and sweet as I am sure this has been written many times before, every fan and football pundit in the world knows that we need to bring in at least three quality players and yet our world-class manager hasn't got the message after four seasons without trophies.
