British police are looking into acquiring the new Caparo T1 (£250,000) as a quick response unit.

The car developed by the guys who bought you Lewis Hamilton's McLaren F1 car, is capable of speeds up to 200 mph and acceleration of 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and onto 100 mph in under five seconds. That's impressive.

However, the car has been involved in several accidents recently. Jason Plato recently test drove the Caparo T1 ending up engulfed in flames with a badly burnt hand and face.

More recently, Jeremy Clarkson test drove it for Top Gear, when it encountered fuel injection problems and a loose floor plate. When the car was finally safe to drive, it smashed the powerlap board recording a 1.10.6, taking the Number one spot off the koenigsegg CCX.

Criminals look out, you're going to get a nasty shock when you look in your mirrors!

  1. I can hear all the chavs crying into their Burberry caps right now at the thought of not being able to outrun the fuzz in their suped up Renault 5 GT Turbos, ha ha ha ... Unlucky boys ... How about you go get a job, sell your Nova and get a bus pass ... Your a danger to not only yourselves but the general public.

By the way ... Nice car ... I watched that episode of Top Gear and I seem to recall there being a crazy amount of emergency crew on standby including numerous fast response bikes, ambulances, fire trucks and even a helicopter ... Hopefully the safety features will be perfected and the reliabilty will need to be that of a McLaren to be passed for the 5-0 to drive !

Will be watching this space !

    1. haha, yeah well said!
That was a great episode of TG, shame it wasn't allowed to stay on the supercar power board!
