The Colts have cleared up the mess. Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star is reporting that Colts senior offensive line coach Howard Mudd will retire after the 2009 season. Mudd and Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore announced their retirement earlier this offseason, but were persuaded to come back by owner Jim Irsay.
Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore had a different note. Moore stated that he will coach as long as someone will hire him. Moore and Mudd will be replaced by Clyde Christenson and Pete Metzelaars.
Metzelaars, a former NFL tight end, was named the Colts offensive line coach when Mudd first announced his retirement, but will now work more with Mudd before finnaly being named OL coach.
