It seems the Tennessee Titans will wear their throwback Houston Oilers uniforms in four games this season, once again causing anguish among loyal Oiler faithful.
You'll recall that Bud Adams, Titans owner and Houston resident, took his team to possum holler while units of people kicked and screamed at city hall, hoping for a last minute Hail Mary to keep the team in Houston.
Mr. Adams thinks the Titans loyalists care about their "Oiler history". How many yards did Earl Campbell run in Titan blue anyway? And that circle of honor, full of Houston's finest, should make Tennessee proud every time they walk in the stadium.
What if the Houston Texans wear their Oiler throwbacks when they play the Titans wearing their Oiler throwbacks? Better yet, how about the St. Louis Rams wear their Cardinals uniforms when they play the Baltimore Ravens, wearing their Colts uniforms. This makes no sense!
Let the memory of Oilers rest in peace!
