Buster Posey: September Call Up?
Buster Posey has been on a tear of late hitting .297 in his last 10 games. He also boasts 2 HR and 6 RBI in his last two games. If Posey keeps this up and gets over the .300 mark, Sabean should be taking a real good look at him. Don't look at the fact that he only has 2 HR's and a .268 avg, but instead look at what he could contribute to the Giants right now. A hitter is a hitter, and if the Giants weren't in contention right now he'd be up already. Why not take the chance on Buster?
Bengie "Big Money" Molina has been struggling of late and should be given a couple days off to re-group. In that time Posey could get called up and get his feet wet. What harm could come out of this?
The only kind of effect this would have on the Giants is a positive one. If Posey comes up and does nothing, it would be equal to what Bengie has been doing. Sabean should look at Buster and say, "The Hell with it, who cares if he isn't ready?" If he can hit, he can help contribute to the Giants hopes of a playoff run.
