Big 12 Leads The Way On Doak Walker Watch List

The 2009 Doak Walker watch list has been released and the Big 12 conference is standing tall.

The award is given each year to the nations top running back.

This years list contains 45 candidates and includes a nation's best seven from the Big 12.

Chris Brown and DeMarco Murrary of Oklahoma, Texas Tech's Baron Batch, Cyrus Gray of Texas A&M, Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter, Jake Sharp of Kansas, and Roy Helu Jr of Nebraska are among the Big 12 candidates.

Other conferences prevalent on the list are the ACC with six candidates, Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference both checking in with five.

The winner will be announced on the ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 10.
