Former McGill-Toolen standout Sidell Corley has been granted a release by LSU coach Les Miles to transfer. Corley's father states his son will seek an in-state program like Alabama, Auburn or Troy.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban tried to recruit Corley out of high school, but LSU was able to land the talented player.
After the recent tragic death of his mother, Janet Penn, Corley felt the need to be closer to home. Sidell Corley Sr. said his son, a 6'4" 273-pound sophmore, will seek a hardship waiver that would allow him to play this season.
Corley is close friends with former LSU defensive back Phelon Jones, who recently transfered to Alabama.
