People always warn fans not to expect much out of rookie wide receivers, and there is some weight to this statement. Wide receiver is one of the toughest positions for rookies to pick up in the NFL. If you are relying on the production of a rookie wide receiver, you may end up sorely disappointed.

But that does not mean that wide receivers cannot have great rookie campaigns. In fact, over the past decade, more than a handful of receivers have excelled in their first taste of NFL action.

This list gives hope for the Giants' rookie WR duo of Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden, as well as Darrius Heyward-Bey, Michael Crabtree, Percy Harvin, Jeremy Maclin, Kenny Britt, and all of the other rookie receivers with the pressure of lofty, immediate expectations.
