Vince Welch tries to find a pit story after the Pocono race, instead he got a tongue lashing from an angry Juan Pablo Montoya.

After Kasey Kahne came over to talk to Juan, ESPN's pit reporter Vince Welch asked Juan why Kasey Kahne had angry words with him after the race.

Well, wrong guess there ESPN crack reporter! Kasey Kahne actually was there to apologize to Juan for the little incident they had.

No angry words there! Was this just a pit reporter attempting to manufacture a story? Or was this an honest mistake by Mr. Vince?

You decide.

I'm going to give that reporter the benefit of doubt. Maybe after a race the drivers tend to talk loud because off all the noise. Maybe that was mistaken as a heated conversation, especially if Mr. Vince was not at a hearing distance.

Here is a good reporting tip, maybe you should make sure you hear the conversation or ask about it off camera. It may keep you from looking like a fool on TV.

Just a little fun fact about the race that maybe you were not aware of.

NASCAR is just full of great side stories, just like that. Maybe that should be my gig, a NASCAR side story soap opera, tabloid type stuff.

This soap opera is so much fun.
