After a third straight pole position and a third straight win for Felipe Massa on the Turkish ground, no one can deny the fact that Massa rules over Istanbul Park.
Massa's victory came with some help from McLaren, as their fear of tire failure added an extra pit stop for Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton's tire failed in 2007 on the same track, and to prevent it from happening again this year, McLaren used a three-stop strategy on both Hamilton and Kovalainen.
The three-stop strategy did work. None of the Bridgestone tires failed throughout the race. But the extra stop also prevented Hamilton from closing the gap on Massa.
Despite having to stop for another 25 seconds in lap 45, Hamilton's overall performance was great as he was still able to finish second, trailing Massa by only 3.7 seconds.
The 10 points, combined with Räikkönen's six at Istanbul, gave Ferrari a total of 63 after having the worst start of the season in Australia. These 63 points provided Ferrari a bigger gap in the team standing, with Ferrari currently leading by 19 points over BMW-Sauber, and 19 points over McLaren after just five races.
Will Ferrari's domination continue?
Or will McLaren provide a better strategy and technical changes for Hamilton and Kovalainen after learning what they needed to know from Istanbul, and start to close the gap in the standings?
Only the result from Grand Prix de Monaco 2008 will provide the answer.
