Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver Character Issues: James Hardy Follow up story

Paul SalmanSenior Analyst IMay 14, 2008

The Buffalo Bills have released the following statement on the James Hardy issue I wrote about the other day.

The statement is as follows:

“We have spoken to law enforcement officials and they have informed us that they looked into this and have no plans to pursue the matter any further. We also spoke to James last night and will continue to speak with him today, but indications are that this matter has been resolved.”

My interpretation of that is that Hardy and his father have resolved this.  If his father has no issues, there are no further charges to be pressed. Which is fine I guess, especially given the fact that the Bills cannot afford to lose their second round draft pick before he steps on the field.

I just hope that Hardy realizes that he is a professional now and needs to be more responsible. Whether or not having a gun is the issue, he needs to remember he is now an investment to an organization and needs to act like a man.

I am sure Trent Edwards agrees with me.
