NBA, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, NBA Finals, Preview/Prediction

Congrats Detroit. Six straight years. Not many teams can have bragging rights like that. And you did it with classic Pistons fashion. Slow paced game, ending with a thriller. This time around, it was Tayshaun's big block on Turkoglu at the end of the game to give them the big win 91-86.

The Pistons showed once again tonight that they are hungry for that Championship. They won two straight games to put Orlando away without Chauncey Billups, who will now most definitely be healthy for the conference finals against either Cleveland or Boston.

Richard Hamilton shot lights out once again, hitting 31 points, and a perfect 16-16 from the free-throw line. Antonio McDyess, with an emotional game, had tons of energy, grabbing every important board, and scoring 17 points. Rasheed chipped in 14, and Rodney came up big, hitting 5-6 for 15, and six assists. Tayshaun may have only thrown up ten points, but shut Turkoglu out, and had the game winning block to end the series.

Defensively, they had many great runs which kept them in the game, and in the lead. Rasheed and McDyess did a great job frustrating Howard again, shutting him out and making him take mid-range jumpers. The Pistons did a great job to make sure Lewis and Turkoglu didn't take over another game by making them earn every shot they took.

I said it in the beginning of the year. Pistons, this is your year. You have the best starting five, and the most athletic bench to back you up. Most likely we will be facing Boston in the Conference Finals, and it will be one of the best match-ups in the Playoffs this year. Rest up, get healthy Chauncey, you have a tough series ahead of you, and you're only eight games away from holding the championship trophy over your head again.
