Below the Belt: Nautico's Vagner Silva sent off for changing shorts

Ronaldo Assis de Moreira Analyst IIAugust 3, 2009

More Brazil nuts as the match between Flamengo and Nautico on Sunday night produced one of the more bizarre dismissal’s likely to be seen this year.

From the hour mark Nautico were forced to play with just 10-men after defender Vagner Silva received his second yellow card for changing shorts during the match without permission from the referee. After tearing up his first pair of pants, Silva quickly made the change near the sideline, but the over-zealous referee was quickly brought up-to-speed with the clothes change by the eagle-eyed fourth official, and as a result Silva received his marching orders.

The ridiculous Vagner Silva dismissal can be seen here.
