Thoughts for the day 5 : NFC focus

This is my on going series Thoughts for the Day, wherein I discuss one or more random thoughts going through my mind that day per team, usually about a particular player. Today's focus is on the NFC. Chime in with your thoughts. Oh yes, the smell of training camps has every NFL fan salivating about our upcoming first view of live NFL action.
Hakeem Nicks
Giants' rookie WR Hakeem Nicks is #1 on my rookie sleeper Fantasy radar. A prime case of measurables having little to do with what being a football player is all about. Some compare him to Anquan Boldin, and I can see that. The want to, the refusal to be tackled, he is a dedicated worker and looks to be NFL ready out of the gate.
LeSean McCoy
With Brian Westbrook banged up, and frankly maybe from being a little overused for the Eagles for a couple of years, rookie RB LeSean McCoy has an opportunity to step in and make some noise.
Felix Jones
I was skeptical about Cowboys' RB Felix Jones before last season, but now I am excited to see more out of him.
Colt Brennan
I think Jason Campbell is a solid QB, and could even be a great one in the right system. I don't think he is in the right system right now playing for the Redskins and at first glance last preseason Colt Brennan looked like a perfect fit.
Aaron Rodgers
I think Aaron Rodgers did a phenomenal job in his first season last year for the Packers. Somehow it was overlooked, but people, remember, that was his first year as a starting QB in this league. He displayed more zing on the ball than the departed legend Brett Favre did in NY, and put up monster numbers. By all accounts, it was one of the most impressive coming out parties I have ever witnessed. I think he deserves to be called one of the top 10 QBs in the league and after this year, maybe higher than that.
Jay Cutler
The Bears' signing of Jay Cutler may turn out to be one of the best deals in the history of the game. Cutler has a golden arm. Remains to be seen whether he turns out like Jeff George despite it.
Tarvaris Jackson
Tarvaris Jackson should be the starting QB for the Vikings, although Sage Rosenfels would probably do pretty well behind Center also. I just like Jackson's arm and mobility. He needs to work on his confidence, but he has solid skills. I think yanking him after two games last year was a sin. At the end of the season despite not getting the entire year to develop like he should have had, he went 3-1 in the last 4 games and threw 4 TDs vs the Cardinals. The thing holding back Jackson is the Vikings.
Calvin Johnson
I love the Lions' WR Calvin Johnson, but again, who is throwing him the ball? A rookie, or a weathered vet playing behind a bad offensive line? Which choice is better?
Josh Freeman
I think rookie QB Josh Freeman should start for the Buccaneers. Byron Leftwich has too long of a wind up, and Freeman is the prototype NFL QB.
Jake Delhomme
Personally I think Panthers' QB Jake Delhomme is done. He has been an overachiever for years but the jig is up.
Matt Ryan
Falcons' Matt Ryan could be The Premier QB in the league in a couple of years when Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are winding down.
Lance Moore
Maybe this is the year people finally start taking Lance Moore seriously as a Saints WR, tough to get recognition when you are playing next to Marques Colston though.
Beanie Wells
I can't wait to get my first look at Beanie Wells. I am high on Tim Hightower also, don't get me wrong, but Cardinals fans have been waiting for a RB to be drafted #1 to pan out for many many years. Last one in recent history was Thomas Jones, and while he has gone on to perform very well since, he was a bust in Arizona.
Marc Bulger
I feel for Marc Bulger. His mentor Kurt Warner has been long gone, as has his teacher Mike Martz for a few years. Now he is left on a rebuilding Rams team with a leaky O-line.
Vernon Davis
Could it be that Mike Singletary is the one that can get Vernon Davis to finally play up to his potential?
Julius Jones
I don't know if the Seahawks addressed their RB situation in the offseason well enough for my liking. Julius Jones is soft.
