USTREAM Adding a New Dimension To Media

Nothing on television? Don't worry, NFL players can keep you entertained, and not just on the field.

With NFL training camps underway athletes have nothing better to do now after curfew then to interact with fans in their rooms on a website called USTREAM. If you are unfamiliar with USTREAM, it is where people can broadcast themselves live via webcam. There is even a chat involved so fans can ask their favorite players any question they want and can usually get a response.

Players getting involved in this craze include Chad Ochocinco, Keith Bulluck, Chris Johnson, Terrell Owens, Martellus Bennett, Darnell Dockett, and more. Topics usually start off with how training camp went and then venture off into whatever the person is feeling.

Personally, I am a fan of players doing this. It brings fans closer to the game and make them get more involved. It is working too, Ochocinco had over 1400 viewers watching his channel in which he calls The Ochocinco show. Bennett had over 1000 viewers on his channel called MartyBtv. I can watch Bennett as he freestyles, answer questions, and give shoutouts to people.

I just read about how the Green Bay Packers are fining players for tweeting during an official function, which makes me think will the NFL eventually look down upon players tweeting or going on USTREAM all together? Hopefully the fans can enjoy watching their favorite players a little longer before the NFL takes all the fun away.

If you want to watch Martellus Bennett, he plans to go on USTREAM every night at around 12:00 (EST). His show can be found here.
