That's right fight fans I'm calling it now plain and simple that Kenny "Kenflo" Florian will defeat BJ Penn by KO or TKO at UFC 101 in Philadelphia August 8th. What would lead me to such a bold prediction against BJ Penn said pound-for-pound elite? Well I've got a few reasons and I'm going to share them with you all.

  1. Kenny Florian is no where near the same fighter he was when he originally fought for the strap against Sean Sherk. His striking and movement has improved greatly and he is a gamer. Watch the Huerta fight.
  2. He has main event experience and won't get the Octagon Jitters that so many people fall victim to when they are the main event.
  3. BJ Penn has not changed in the least. His boxing is mediocre, take down defense is fantastic (except against St. Pierre), and jiu-jitsu game is good but not used enough.
  4. Florian trained with GSP to help himself prepare for this fight against Penn and is highly motivated to show all of the haters out there on the internet that the "nerd" can become a world champion. BJ Penn is probably out on the beach catching some waves... brah!
Okay, so maybe I'm a little bit biased but seriously Florian has looked unstoppable and I think stylistically both of these fighters match up very well with one another. Penn might be a bit scrappier while Florian comes in with a better game plan. What was Penn's game plan in the last fight against GSP? Penn walks into the Octagon ready to fight guns blazing but strategy wise he's always lacking.
Florian comes in shape prepared and ready to rumble. I give it to Florian in the 4th by TKO also known as BJ Penn gassing.
