The New England Defense has always been the supposed Achilles Heel over the past few years and in some situations it was.
Like the AFC Championship Game agaisnt Colts
and even agaisnt the Gaints in the Super Bowl.(I'm pretty sure if Asante caught that one pass the game would have been over.)

But let me explain why we ready to Move to the next level as a Defense and when our young players start to contribute, we are going to be one of the Top Defensive teams in the Leage. Super Bowl Here We Come!!!

Ty Warren

Ty Warren is a pro bowl caliber player and is a beast.

Last season he got injured but with him back in the line up i expect him to be one of the best.

If's he 100% he will be a great asset to our defense!

Vince Wilfork

SEATTLE - DECEMBER 07: Vince Wilfork #75 of the New England Patriots warms-up on the field before the game against the Seattle Seahawks on December 7, 2008 at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington. The Patriots defeated the Seahawks 24-21. (Photo by Otto Gr

Vince Wilfork is a one of the best NT in the leage.

He's in contract years so he is going to prove to everyone that he is worth the risk and worth the money.

I dont know whats gonna happen this offseason but i know he working hard for something whether it be money or another super bowl.

Richard Seymour

Richard Seymour is the ideal 3-4 defensive end and has shown thats he one of the best in the NFL.

But has been injured the past few seasons.

He has a chip on his shoulder and is going to prove even at his age he can dominate.
He lead the team with 8 sacks last season and is also in contract years so expect his best this season.

Jerod Mayo

FOXBORO, MA - AUGUST 7: Jerod Mayo #51 of the New England Patriots defends against the Baltimore Ravens during the preseason game at Gillette Stadium on August 7, 2008 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. (Photo by Jim Rogash/Getty Images)

Mayo played so well is rookie season that we felt comfortable enough to let go off Mike Vrabel (which is a sad for me i personally thought we wouldnt trade him but saves us money).

Mayo has shown that he is Capable of making plays and is going to be a future leader of our Defense.

Gary Guyton

Gary Showed promise last year when he got some playing time.

But ended on IR list.

He ran the fastest 40 time of all linebackers in his Draft class.
So we know he has some amazing speed which is what we been lacking over the past few years.

Look for him in blizt plays im sure alot of people are gonna know is name this season.

Adalius Thomas

SAN FRANCISCO - OCTOBER 5: Adalius Thomas #96 of the New England Patriots stands on the field during the game against the San Francisco 49ers on October 5, 2008 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)

We all know Thomas got some Skills and will come back with a vengance.

He his a great tackler and a great pass rusher as well.

He lead us in sacks before getting injured so with him healty again expect him to be a leader of our defense.

The other outside linebacker spot

Obviously that position is up for grabs ever since Vrabel left.

I can't really comment on this yet cause we may go with Shane Crable, Pierre Woods or even trade for somebody but until then we'll see.

Brandon Meriweather

Meriweather has really become a reliable Safety for us. Lead our team in Interceptions last Season 4 and didnt even start the whole season.

He has the potential to become a great safety and a Ballhawk with time.

Patrick Chung

FOXBOROUGH - MAY 2: Patrick Chung #25 participates in a drill during the New England Patriots Minicamp at Gillette Stadium May 2, 2009 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. (Photo by Jim Rogash/Getty Images)

I like this guy and think he his gonna make an Impact evuantually but not until late in the season. I see some big hits in the future from him and to the unlucky reciever who crosses the middle.

I hope he Can do what Jerod Mayo did for us last year but its not expected.

I don't have to much faith in James Sanders. So hopefully Chung brings the heat this season.

Corner Backs

Well this is also a difficult desicion as well.

We have 2 free agents we signed with experience
Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs

A second Year player Terrance Wheatly

and rookie Daruis Bulter.

Its up for grabs the whoever plays the best are going to win the jobs.
