The January transfer window is closer than ever and that means rumours will soon start to fly.

For FC Barcelona, who are currently under a transfer ban, bringing in new players looks impossible. However, that hasn’t stopped the papers from doing what they do best.

It is clear that Luis Enrique’s side is far from perfect, but can they actually bring in needed talent to challenge for all titles? That remains to be seen.

This article will serve as your transfer rumour tracker for the first week of December. Be sure to check back regularly to see what all the papers are saying about the Catalan giants!

Marco Asensio

Marco Asensio is the most promising winger in Spain at the moment, and it is no surprise that bigger clubs are fighting for his signature.

In a recent report by Marca, Luis Enrique admitted that the Catalans had been following the 18-year-old before he even took over at the club.

I don't usually talk about players who aren't at our club. He has plenty of suitors and the club was already interested in him before I arrived, but that's it. We'll talk about him when he's in our squad and until them, let his team talk about him.

However, it looks like Barcelona will miss out on the player, as a deal is already in place with Real MadridThe young winger told Pedro Fullana of AS:

We will see what happens this week because in this club anything can happen. Real Madrid have decided and I am really happy. I’m looking forward to seeing the finalization of the deal in order to make everyone calmer – the club, me, and Real Madrid. It is an honor that the best clubs are fixed on me and the best is Real Madrid. The agreement is for five seasons and now, to enjoy.

Martin Montoya

Martin Montoya’s future at Barcelona looks already decided.

According to Santi Gimenez of AS, the La Masia graduate has already made up his mind to leave the Catalan club.

The only issue remaining at the moment appears to be when Montoya will say goodbye to his boyhood team.

It is possible that he could find a new suitor as soon as the winter transfer window, but Barcelona may want to consider their options before letting him leave so quickly.

With Dani Alves not getting any younger and Douglas unable to adapt to European football, Montoya’s exit will not be seen as a good one.

According to the report, Barcelona want to loan the player out until 2016. However, Montoya isn’t interested, as he is ready to cut ties completely with the club.
