MLB Update: Red Sox Get Victor Martinez

Breaking News

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Boston Red Sox have acquired Cleveland Indians catcher Victor Martinez.

Clay Buchholz and Daniel Bard are not involved in the deal.

Instead, the Sox are sending minor league pitcher Nick Hagadone, one of Boston's top prospects, and one of my favorite players, Justin Masterson.

This will definitely help the Red Sox' offense and will resolve the catcher situation, for now.

You'll likely see backup catcher George Kottaras get demoted or get designated for assignment.
