The Cleveland Browns have all their rookies signed, sealed and delivered on time for training camp. Coming off a 4-12 season with a new coaching staff and many holes to fill, it's a good time to be a rookie in Cleveland. Is there a future star or stars among this group? I look for all the drafted rookies to make the roster and probably Alex Mack to earn a starting spot at either guard or center. When I look at the roster, I think the door is open at several positions if they can come in and impress Mangini..
Big tough receiver from georgia who's not afraid to go over the middle. Had trouble with drops in college but really blossomed his senior year catching 58 passes for 920 yards and 8 TDs.
Brian Robiskie is a big WR who knows how to run routes and has great hands. Robiskie had a down year his senior season at Ohio State due to a change in offense but still showed great hands in catching 42 balls for 535 yds and 8 tds.
David Veikune, ILB has nice size and a great motor. While playing mostly defensive end in college, Veikune registered 16 sacks and 25 tackles behind the line his final two seasons at Hawaii. Mangini likes his intelligence and his relentless pursuit.
kaluka Maiava is a rookie LB who excells on special teams. Coming from USC Maiava was the smallest and least known of the great Trojan linebackers but earned a starting spot his senior year. Maiava is very versatile having played all linebacker positions in college. Special teams will probably be his main spot with the Browns.
Don Carey is a rookie cornerback who impressed in mini camp. Coming from tiny Norfolk State University is probably why Carey slipped to the 6th round. A smart playmaker, look for Carey to see plenty of time this year.
Coye Francies is a rookie cornerback will big play ability. Coye is very athletic and the Browns like his ability to play tight coverage.
Alex Mack, C, was the Browns top draft pick out of Cal. Can he oust incumbent C Hank Fraley? Mack should play right away at either guard or center. Considered the best center in the draft Mack is huge (6-4 311) and strong. The running game should receive a huge boost from Mack.
James Davis is a rookie RB who turned some heads in mini camp.
