Vikings DE Kenechi Udeze retires to focus on battling leukemia
Sad news from FOX Sports.com, via The Minneapolis Star Tribune, as they have learned Vikings defensive end Kenechi Udeze, who missed last season due to his battle with leukemia, will retire.

Udeze was drafted 20th overall by the Vikes in 2004 out of USC. He tied for the team lead in sacks in 2007, but was forced to miss the 2008 campaign. He was diagnosed with leukemia in February 2008 and hasn't played since.

Hopefully Udeze, 26, will be able to make a full recovery. A return to football may seem unlikely but a healthy life is his number one concern right now.
