Midfielder Diego, one of Juventus’ latest additions along with Felipe Melo, is starting off his pre-season at the highest level. On his Juventus debut he scored one of the three goals that gave them the win over fragile South Korea’s Seongnam.

In his interview to Gazzetta Dello Sport he declared, “This is one of the strongest teams in the world. Juventus is part of soccer’s elite, and we are strong candidates to win any tournament that we compete in.”

Speaking about his first goal wearing the Juventus shirt he said, “This was a special goal, and I hope that this is the first of many more goals to come.”

He seems to be adapting well playing with his new teammates:

“I felt really good playing with Iaquinta and Trezeguet. Of course playing with players of this caliber always facilitates things. Juventus’ way of playing is very similar to the way I played in Germany, which will help in making a seamless transition.”

Juventus next faces off with Real Madrid this Friday. Kaka will miss this match as he continues to work on fitness as are the other players that took part in the Confederations Cup.
