Ignoring The Ignore Feature....... and Other Ignorable Stupid Ideas

I don't know about the typical average writer on this site, but I take my writing more seriously than your over zealous college chemistry teacher gushing about his beloved atoms. You know the one, too small for the invincible eye.

I want my writing to be read, not just by people who think like me and like what I write, but also by people who detest everything I stand for. That way, when they read my piece, they can criticize me and force me to find answers to their evil questions.

If at the end of the day, I have 20 or 25 comments on my article. And 80% are from those that disagree with me, then my work as a writer is done.

This is because, above everything, writers are meant to write to cause the average man to think about things, that he would have been thinking if not for his daily 9 to 5 or some other life problems.

Jeremy Botter wrote an article called "BR Sorely Needs an "Ignore User" Feature". I'm sure the fact that if I had included Blotter in my ignore list, I would be unable to see this article flew over Jeremy's head.

How can you be a writer, the profession for those whose who seek to report the truth and everything else. And then try to oppress freedom in writing. That's just like Hitler taking over Germany as the savior of the oppressed, only to become the oppressor after taking over.

Rather than implement the ignore feature- which by the way is the usually how every great website starts crumbling. Once you start trying to regulate how people live their lives, they will revolt and move to a different website.

Rather than implementing the ignore feature, can BR please open up a creative writing section. A place where writers can write about anything they want, from poetry to new math formulas, to science, and perhaps even some imaginative storybook like Harry Potter.

My point is that no one knows where the next Shakespeare or Homer will come from. So instead of hijacking people's right to be heard via the ignore button, why don't we all join together and open up a writing society where all voices will be heard.

So that being said, ignore the ignore button and any other ignorable stupid ideas that has to do with limiting and oppressing you as a writer. '

As a writer, you should illuminate and shine each step of the way, as opposed to being ignored like Richard Cheney.

Who knows, this might end up being my best work ever, and I have Mr Botter to thank for that. Maybe if Mr. Jeremy advocated freedom in writing, he might be able to read an article so horrible or so ill-written, that it would motivate him to write his best work.

To finally write an article that will raise him up from the best among losers, and people with backward oppressing mentality to a man who knows his rights and his freedoms. A man who has no limits or bounds to what he can achieve in life.

But if he is stuck at his desktop, sulking and asking for an ignore feature- I doubt he will ever make it out.
