Hello B/R and welcome to the first of many DVD reviews from yours truly. Most of my reviews will consist of WWE DVD sets but only because I don't own any TNA or RoH stuff...yet.

The reason for my reviews is to help you all decide whether or not it's really worth buying. I'm sure you can look up reviews on Amazon or somewhere else but not all of them will give you what I'm giving you.

You see, lately the WWE has been dishing out DVD sets like crazy.

I think they put out at least one a month so I'm always in Wal-Mart staring at the wrestling section with a contorted look of my face. Most people think I'm staring angrily at the section but the truth is, I'm always wondering which is the best buy.

I plan to collect them all for the most part but until then, I want to purchase only the very best and work my way backwards, you dig?

So...I'm going to break it down as best as I can in the hopes of either persuading or dissuading my fellow wrestling fans to purchase said DVD. Now without further ado, first up on the list is the "WWE's Greatest Stars of the 90s."

Summary

As you know, this DVD highlights what the WWE believes are the top stars of the 90's. Of course you know that means the Attitude Era and the New Generation movement so if you're like me, they pretty much have you sold on that alone.

Disk 1 goes through all of the featured stars with commentary from several current WWE superstars. Each highlight is done with a video package of the featured star as well as a bio that speaks of the superstar's most notable accomplishments. Commentary from other stars is to help support why that star is featured.

Disk numbers 2 and 3 are all matches that span throughout the 90's (Yes, that includes matches that feature Hunter Hearst Helmsley). Most of them are from pay per views, but not all of them.

The special features can be found on Disk 1 and in my opinion, definitely worth reliving.

List of Featured Stars:

  • Shawn Michaels
  • Yokozuna
  • The Rock
  • Kevin Nash
  • Owen Hart
  • Ric Flair
  • Mick Foley
  • Hulk Hogan
  • Triple H
  • Bret Hart
  • Lex Luger
  • Sting
  • Razor Ramon
  • The Undertaker
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin

They also include sections about some of the worst stars or gimmicks of the 90's. That includes several CvC stars. (Ha! The Shockmaster.) A small section is dedicated to the women of the 90's which is highlighted through a short video package featuring women like Sable and Terri Runnels.

The surprising section was another short video package spotlighting the three greatest promoters of the 90's: Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, and Vince McMahon.

Featured Matches

I'm not going to list them all because you need some surprises in life. But just so you know, I've watched them all and none of them disappoint. Then again, you're talking about the 90's. These guys today couldn't hold a stick to some of these vets.
