Great job to everyone thus far in NHL trivia!

Here are the answers and results for last week. I apologize in advance for No. 8, but there was a mistake I made in it, so it does not count. My bad!

1. (Three points) Why did Maurice Richard wear No. 9?

His child weighed nine pounds at birth.

2. (Six points) Who is the only goaltender in NHL history to win six Stanley Cups and not be in the Hockey Hall of Fame?

Charlie Hodge

3. (Five points) Why did Elmer Lach originally sign with the Montreal Canadiens instead of the New York Rangers (answer that is remotely close will count as correct)?

He was told the Rangers were cheap and when in his Rangers’ training camp invitation it said, “Please sharpen your own skates,” he decided to go to Montreal.

4. (Two each) Of the “dynasties” that won at least four Stanley Cups, which teams had a different coach in that fourth season (name the old and new coach as well), (there are four, partial credit will be given)?

Ottawa Senators 1920-1923, 1927 (Pete Green→Dave Gill)

Toronto Maple Leafs 1947-1951 (Hap Day→Joe Primeau)

Montreal Canadiens 1950, 1952, 1954, 1955 (Tommy Ivan→Jimmy Skinner)
Montreal Canadiens 1965-1966, 1968-1969 (Toe Blake→Claude Ruel)

5. (Two points) Who is the only coach to win five straight Stanley Cups?

Toe Blake

6. (Six points) Who scored the fastest hat trick in NHL history and in how long?

Bill Mosienko, 21 seconds.

7. (Three points, three points bonus) Who ended the longest overtime game in NHL history (Bonus: how long did it last; must get original answer as well for bonus points)?

Modere “Mud” Bruneteau, six overtimes, 116 minutes, 30 seconds?

9. (Two points) True or false: All of these defensemen played 15 or more seasons.
(True)
Bob Baun
Brad Park
Guy Lapointe
David Shaw
Rick Green

10. (Two points) Who is the only player whose name begins with a “Q” to be inducted into the Hall of Fame?

Bill Quackenbush

11. (Five points) Why was Christopher Higgins named the way he was?

So his initials spell "CH," for Canadiens/Habs

Bonus: (10 points) What is the first trophy that Wayne Gretzky ever won?

Wally Bauer Trophy as most improved player in Brantford Minor Hockey Association.

Picture: (Seven points) What is wrong with this picture?

It is Lester Patrick’s head shot pasted over a picture of Lorne Chabot

Here are the leaders:
Chris Hoeler: 98
Patrick Quarry: 85
BT: 84
