This is my first Yankees blog entry, and it is something that I am going to try to update every day or so. Here goes...
As far as I'm concerned, Kei igawa's major league baseball career is over. The Yankees gave him a big shot at filling a temporary hole in the rotation, but the delusional southpaw could not help himself in an outing in which he barely lasted three innings.
Igawa's excuse cannot be that AAA and the big show are that different, for a couple reasons.
Number one, Igawa is getting the huge money, on a contract that seemingly only a knucklehead would offer. Also, Darell Rasner is proving that it isn't that hard to make the adjustment as he has made two solid starts for the Yankees, and he could prove to be their most valuable player over the course of May.
The Yankees need to fill Kennedy's hole with someone who can do a little better than Igawa, and although there are numerous prospects lurking in the minors, I think that the Yankees should be looking for a seasoned veteran who can be okay with the role of sixth starter, just as long as it isn't David Wells.
After Kennedy's start today, I think that he should come back ASAP, and the Yankees should start him on the fifth day after thursday's game.
Whatever the Yankees do, they shouldn't let Igawa pitch.

You can't just give up on a guy that you paid $46 million dollars for. Trust me, the Yankees would love nothing more then to send him out on the first fight back.

I agree that money talks, but I think this case should be an exception. The guy was a mistake and they need to suck it up and let him go before he makes a bad situation even worse. I agree that they need to look for a veteran to solidify the back end of the rotation.
