Liverpool signed Adam Lallana for £25 million in the summer, and he seems to be enjoying life in Merseyside, well for the most part anyway.

The former Southampton man told Liverpool's official website a funny story about a day out he had with his two-year-old son in his new hometown:

I went to Knowsley Safari Park with my little boy recently and ended up coming back with bits of the car missing from going into the monkey bit, so I won't be going back there in a rush!

But I'm settling in well. I've got my family up here, which always helps. I can't complain and after my injury, I'm just delighted to be back playing.

The quotes were picked up by the Daily Star who sprinkled a bit of tabloid fairy dust on the story by suggesting Lallana's car was "torn to pieces" by the monkeys, after he was "ambushed" on a day out that "all went wrong."

Judging by Lallana's original quotes, we don't think it was that bad, but hey, it all makes for a good story, and the monkeys at Knowsley certainly look frisky.
