38 games into the season and who thought the Detroit Tigers would be 16-22. I don't believe anyone did. I mean they have two of the best hitters in Baseball, Magglio Ordonez and Miguel Cabrera, and not to mention the 2nd highest payroll in the game.
My question is this why do they make exuses everytime they lose? All Leyland does is make up excuses! Josh Beckett is no where near the pitcher he was last year and they couldnt touch him! They go up there and try to hit the ball 500 feet eveytime they swing!
They have guys like Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez swinging at balls way above his head for example, like yesterday he had a guy on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and he swung at a ball at the catchers head.....when he stood up! Its pathetic!
Take guys like Justin Verlander, he is the cockiest person in the whole clubhouse! I got news for you justin, you are 1-6. Learn how to pitch again before you walk around the clubhouse like you own it.
I also don't understand why they wont get rid of Todd Jones. He is the worst closer in the league. I think Zumaya would do better injured than Jones would healthy.
There are a couple of bright spots. Armando Galaraga is quickly establishing himself as a very good pitcher and Gary Sheffield is finally starting to get going since the move to left field.
Im gonna be honest i love Baseball and the Tigers are my favorite team, but they have A LOT of work to do if they want to even make the Wild Card. Thankfully nobody in the AL Central is running away with the division.
