Last year Grabovski was coming into the season just looking for a job. From there he instantly began to impress. He ended up finishing the season with 20 goals and 28 assists, which is quite impressive. All last season Grabo never really had to many big bodies to back him up but was a fierce man night in and night out. He always put it all out there especially for such a small frame, weighing in at 5'11" 180 lbs. Now Burke went to work this off season signing Francois Beauchemin, Mike Komisarek, Jonas Gustavsson and Rickard Wallin. Burke also gave Pavel Kubina the boot to Atlanta which brought in Garnet Exelby and Colin Stuart. I almost forgot, last but not least Colton Orr was also signed and will be a big help enforcing up front.
So with all this size and toughness it opens ice for a guy like Mikhail Grabovski. Now everyone has been saying how poor the Leafs center and the whole forward situation is. I beg to differ, I think Toronto can be just as good or better for goals for this year . Let's not forget they were 10th overall in the entire NHL for goals. Not so bad at all. Yes, you can say they lost Dominic Moore and Nik Antropov but then you have to take in account a man like Jiri Tlusty. Tlusty just came off a very impressive 25 goals and 41 helpers in only 66 games which is a ppg rate. So there is a good chance with his talent level and with someone like Tyler Bozak those lost goals will be accounted for. Back to Grabovski, basically what I'm getting at is that I think Grabo has the ability to be a decent number one center and I can see him racking up about 60-65 points. What are your thoughts?
